This map has highly detailed place names. The orientation of the map is towards North with coordinates placed around the border of the map. The map contains also part of South-Western Sicily at the top-right corner. The title of the map which is located in sector A4 is in large flowery script. Volume 2, which contains the Malta map, is part two of 'Carte general du theatre de la guerre en Italie', Paris, 1798-1802. Sheets 21 and 22 are joined together and the inset enclosing the Malta map at the bottom-left corner does not form a square; it has an irregular shape at the top-right corner. This map was published in the volume entitled ' Carte generale des royaumes de Naples, Sicilie & Sardaigne ainsi que des isles de Malte & de Goze …'.
